Via the High Scalability blog, the Best Practices for High Scalability article and YouTube video presentation is worth checking out. Some of it's review, but there are alot of interesting metrics and data points in the video from Yahoo's Exceptional Performance Group. You may know you need to do certain things to make a site perform well, but those metrics can help you measure the real potential impact.

Note: There are some audio problems in the first couple of minutes of the video, but wait it out, it does get better.

Mike Brunt's Gravatar Cameron this is a great blog you pointed out here and of course the video itself is good too. It has been my thought for a long time that to continue improving my marketability I need to continue to grow my knowledge of all and everything that constitutes developing and maintaining enterprise web (and now desktop via AIR) applications. I hope you are keeping well by the way.

Cameron Childress's Gravatar Yes - more and more recently I've found myself tempted to just skip this sorta stuff (at conferences too) because some of it's always information I already know. However, just about every single time I find that some of the information is new to me. It's important to keep pushing yourself to sift through and pick up that percentage of new information as it comes your way, even if it's just a little tidbit.

Doing well here in Atlanta! Hope you're doing well too - we should catchup at the next conference...
