Operation Bootcamp Is Over - Tale of the Tape

It's over, and here's the tale of the tape...

  • Days since OBC began: 25
  • Total pounds lost: 12.8 (is 201.4, was 214.2)
  • Body Fat improvement: 4.3% (is 18.5%, was 22.8%)
  • Mile time improvement: 2+ minutes! (is 6:29, was ~8:30)
  • Pushups: 1 more (is 43, was 42)
  • Situps: 10 more (is 34, was 24)
  • Dips: 8 more (is 42, was 50)

I'll spare you the photos, but I can definitely tell a difference. Now I just have to figure out how to keep this going without bootcamp...

Adam Howitt Hey Cam! Congrats on the poundage, bodyfat and mile time! That's great and I'm sure you feel much better. Great results in 25 days - you should check with Mr Richards because I know he goes to something like that all year round...
Cameron Childress Thanks for the kudos. I actually chatted with him about doing something, but then he was in Egypt for awhile. I think he works out in "the dreaded Buckhead" though. Too far outta my hood. I am actually considering taking up martial arts as a way to avoid backsliding. More interesting than gyms, and something I can gain mental discipline from as well as physical discipline.
Adam Howitt Well, there is always running - sounds like you've got a couple of 5k runs under your belt. Look on WalkJogRun in your hood and there are probably already a few hundred 5k, 4 miles etc. you could do. The Atlanta Track club is also a great group and have regularly scheduled meetings you could go to with runners of all skill levels etc. Not to mention it's a great place to meet, ahem, single ladies :-) There is a book called "Running for Mortals" by two Runners World authors about getting into the habit of a lifetime...
Cameron Childress You know you're getting old when your knees hurt after running. And boy do they hurt... I am not giving up on running, but I did just search WalkJogRun and there are a ton around me. I may make one of my own. We'll see how I keep up with the running. Running's growing on me though I doubt I'll ever be a marathoner like you. :)
michelle Congrats! Those are some impressive stats.
