Ivan Speaking at MAX?

After seeing numerous news reports predicting that Ivan will be hitting New Orleans have me wondering about the potential impact on the MAX Conference. New Orleans is below sea level, and a direct hit could devestate the city in a way not seen in a long time. If you've not bought your plane/hotel/MAX tickets yet, it might be worth waiting to see what damage the storm does.

g.wygonik well, luckily, Ivan passed us here in New Orleans with very little of anything. while the potential was there for damage, we were very fortunate to have none; just a little rain and some strong winds.

providing the next three tropical systems don't come directly here, New Orleans will be fine. (all the models show the next two, Jeanne and Karl, not really bothering anybody on the mainland)

besides, New Orleans is very resiliant and can clean up pretty fast. remember, every year we have Mardi Gras festivities for two weeks solid and clean up in just a few hours! ;-)
